Sedro-Woolley

The town of Sedro-Woolley is also known as the gateway to the North Cascades and the Upper Skagit Valley. Sedro-Woolley (pop. 9,380) is home to the headquarters for the North Cascades National Park and Mt. Baker Ranger Station. The town is located along the Skagit River and the area offers many recreational opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast. Sedro-Woolley is close to great sport fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, and white water rafting.

During the summer, Sedro-Woolley is host to Loggerodeo, the state's oldest ongoing 4th of July celebration. This celebration starts in late June and runs through July 4th. The event includes an old-time logging show and contests, PWRA Rodeo, parades, a carnival, chainsaw carving contests, the Great Sedro-Woolley footrace, fireworks and more.

Sedro-Woolley's downtown has numerous cedar statues that line the streets of the shopping district. The statues were carved with chain saws and hand finished and add to the town's charm. There is a beautiful historical mural painted on the wall next to the clock tower and gazebo. The mural was finished in the summer of 2005.
